We all looking for more natural approach to our skin care routine. No, I don't mean go out and spent even more money, especially not when the whole living crisis is till going on! Just using common store cupboard's skin care ingredients, you can have some quick and easy fix without opening your purse again.
Tea
Being a nation of Tea drinkers, we all have an array of tea in our cupboard. (I am drinking one right now.) Tea, whether it's black tea, green tea or white tea all contain anti-oxidants. Try soaking some in warm water and place them on your eyes for 20 mins, it will reduce the puffiness and dark circles.
Coffee
Not the instant type. Coffee ground and coconut oil/olive oil can be mixed together to form a body scrub. The grain will help to remove dirt, dead skin and improve circulation. Not advisable to use on your face!.
Milk
Use as a light cleanser and see the result. Milk is great for sensitive skin type. Rumour have said Cleopatra used to bath in it. The protein will improve your skin elasticity and the lactic acid is great as skin softener.
Sugar
When mixed with coconut oil is a great exfoliating agent. ( Please be careful of the grain size as larger one will tear your skin! Use softer one, for example, soft brown sugar instead.) Sugar is a natural humectant which means it will draw moisture onto your skin. It will keep your skin moisturised. It is also a natural source of glycolic acid and AHA which encourage cell turn over for younger looking skin.
Honey
Honey is antibacterial, anti fungal and antiseptic. Try using it once a week as a mask or mix with sugar to give you that glow.
Avocado
This super food nourishes skin from inside and out. The fruit is rich is omega-3, omega- 9 fatty acid, hydrate and soften your skin. Vitamin A, D and E will repair the environmental damaged.
I use the really ripped one and mash it up to use it as a weekly nourishing treatment.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes cleanse and prevent acne and blackhead. They reduce excess oil, hydrate and even out your skin tone.
Combine the pulp with honey to use once a week for oily skin.
Combine the pulp with coconut cream and oil for dry and dehydrated skin.
Combine the pulp with lemon juice and oat meal flour for acne prone skin.
Cucumber
Apply to puffy eyes for 10 mins. For a simple morning wash, mix cucumber water with other beneficial ingredients like aloe vera and green tea, You can also splash your face with cucumber water to feel refreshed and awake at any time of day.
Banana peels
Try rubbing a banana peel on your face to brighten skin and reduce wrinkles. Or try placing a banana peel on closed eyes to reduce puffiness. You could also try rubbing the peel on acne scars to help them fade
Just make sure you don't eat them.....
