Yeah, I am not ashamed to admit it. My drawers are rammed with "Hype" products. I research a lot as a facialist and I always seem to ended up purchasing some if not all. I mean I COULD use store cupboard ingredients but all these pretty advert and celebrities reviews can't be wrong, right?
Just search , "Glowing Skin on a budget". There are thousand upon thousand of results online. Top of the search are obviously the big companies, all trying to sell their products. It is a rabbit hole that you don't wanna fall into. However, if you pay attention to the key ingredients, you could potentially save yourself hundreds of pounds.
Glowing skin on a budget ingredients.
Vitamin C
It is in a lot of our food. Not only it maintain our general health, it also contribute to glowing skin. It is a powerful antioxidant, which means it will protect our skin from damage cause by, e.g. UV. It also help fade existing hyperpigmentation but also prevent it. Just make sure if you do buy just the vitamin C serum, don't mix with Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acids, Benzoyl peroxide or Retinol. (It's ok if you buy formula that has both in.)
Niacinamide
Niacinamide or vitamin B3 is one of the best ingredients to try out if you want healthy, refined, and glowing skin. But besides being effective for fading hyperpigmentation, niacinamide is also one of the gentlest anti-inflammatory and anti-acne ingredients. There are thousands of product that has niacinamide in, make sure you pink the ones that is valued for money.
Hyaluronic Acid
Need no introduction. This ingredient is everywhere. It is in cleanser to moisturiser to serum to shampoo. But did you know if you mix it with vitamin C, it is even better? They are a good combination because hyaluronic acid’s anti-inflammatory and humectant (i.e. water attracting) properties can help offset the dryness that sometimes occurs with vitamin C.
Vitamin A (aka Retinol)
This powerful antioxidant can help target every skin concern you might be dealing with, from hyperpigmentation and signs of aging all the way to moderate and severe acne. If you suffer from skin sensitivity after using retinol, double check the strength. You skin may need time to adapt. Try using moisturiser with the retinol and slowly increase the proportion until your skin is adapted to it.
Copper Peptides
Copper peptides are a skin-restoring ingredient that encourages overall skin improvement and promotes healthy and glowing skin.
But their most efficient role when applied topically on the skin is to promote collagen and elastin and thus reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and encourage skin firmness and tone.
Can I combined different ingerdients together?
You can combine some together. Vitamin C and Niacinamide or vitamin B3 work together. Retinol and copper peptides may cancel each other out (unless they are formulated in the same product) and make each product less effective.
Arming with these basic ingredients, you wouldn't have to spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on your beauty routine! For example
